1. Who we are
The High Coast Company is a Swedish UF company based in Höga Kusten Sweden. We run the High Coast Discover and are responsible for the personal data described here.
Contact us at info@thehighcoastcompany.com.
2. Data we use
- Account data. Your email address, authentication information and optional public display name let you sign in, use the leaderboard and keep your passport. We process this to provide the service.
- Passport progress. We save which challenges you complete and when so your stamps remain available.
- Technical data. A session token keeps you signed in. Short lived server logs help us keep the service secure and working.
3. Location checks
When you press Check in, your browser asks to use your position once. The coordinates and reported accuracy are sent securely to our server for a one time distance check.
- Your coordinates are used only for that check and are never stored.
- We save only a successful completion and its time.
- We do not track you in the background.
- You can remove location permission in your device settings.
4. Storage and sharing
Account and passport data are stored with our service providers so the service can operate. We do not sell personal data or share it with advertisers.
A partner may request aggregate completion statistics. These reports do not include names, email addresses, coordinates or individual activity.
5. Cookies and device storage
We use necessary cookies or device storage to keep you signed in. We also save your cookie notice choice on your device. Passport progress is stored with your account, not in an advertising or tracking cookie. Pages and images you have visited are cached on your device so place guides still open without mobile coverage; no location coordinates are ever stored. Weather on place pages is fetched from SMHI using the place's location, not yours. We do not use analytics, advertising cookies or third party tracking.
6. Retention
We keep your account and passport until the account is deleted. Technical logs are kept only as long as needed for security and troubleshooting.
7. Your rights
Under GDPR you can ask us to:
- provide a copy of your data;
- correct inaccurate data;
- delete your account and passport;
- restrict or stop certain processing;
- provide portable data when the right applies.
Email info@thehighcoastcompany.com from your account address. You may also complain to the Swedish Authority for Privacy Protection, IMY.
